David S. Goodboy (born September 23, 1964) is an American investor and financial writer. He is the founder of the Palm Beach Hedge Fund Association[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] and author of Beat the Machines: An Investor's Guide to Winning in Today's Financial Markets (2016). [11][12][13][14][15][16]
Early life and education
[edit]Goodboy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Stanley and Susan Goodboy. He attended Geneva College from 1983 to 1988 and later studied law at Duquesne University School of Law.[17][16]
Career
[edit]Goodboy began his career in the 1990s at a derivatives arbitrage firm based in St. Thomas and Chicago. He later worked at Eagle’s View Asset Management, a New York-based fund of funds, where he was involved in capital raising. [1][10]
In 2017, his company PBHFA organized an event at President Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida. [2][3][4][5][6][7][11][15]
From the late 1990s to the early 2000s, Goodboy wrote for Tradingmarkets.com, where his articles were syndicated to platforms like Yahoo Finance. He also appeared as a commentator on ETrade On-Air, a broker-owned media program. [17]
