CricksyDog is the pet food brand of the Hungarian company Vargyas Petfood Kft., which specializes in animal nutrition. The company’s warehouse is located in Kapuvár, in Győr-Moson-Sopron County, while its office is based in Budapest.
Company History
[edit]CricksyDog was founded by three siblings (Zsuzsanna Almási, Imre Vargyas, and András Vargyas) and launched its website on March 1, 2017. CricksyDog is a Hungarian-owned company that produces and distributes premium-quality dog food, canine supplements, and treats, operating entirely through an online sales model. The company’s mission is to help dog owners support the health and well-being of their four-legged companions with high-quality products made from natural ingredients.
Their rapid growth and success were even featured in the Hungarian edition of Forbes in 2020.[1] At the beginning of their journey, they also took part in the Climate KIC innovation startup program.[2]
Over time, the family business has outgrown its initial size. By the end of 2021, the company employed 9 people. Its net annual revenue in 2021 had already exceeded €1.25 million (500 million HUF). The company has continued to grow ever since: as of 2025, it handles over 1,000 packages daily, and its annual revenue now exceeds €3 million (1.2 billion HUF).[3] Their goal is to reach an annual revenue of €20 million (8 billion HUF) within four years, further strengthening the brand’s position in the Central European market.
In its early days, CricksyDog focused on serving the Hungarian market. However, over time, the brand has steadily expanded its geographical reach. Today, CricksyDog products are available in 8 European countries.
Products
[edit]The dry food range is divided into four main categories:
- Dry food for larger dogs is sold under the name Ted.
- Dry food for smaller breed dogs is available under the name Juliet.
- Puppy-specific dry food is offered under the name Chucky.
- Dry food for senior and aging dogs is available under the name Oscar.
Wet Food
CricksyDog’s product range also includes canned dog food made with regular meats (e.g., lamb, liver, and other organ meats). These are especially popular among pet parents who prefer a more natural feeding option for their dogs.[1]
