Consular & Diplomatic Service University (CDSU), formerly known as the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), is a nonprofit diplomatic training institution based in Accra, Ghana. It was founded under the continental treaty of the African Diplomatic Organization (ADO), formerly the African Union Youth Assembly (AUYA).[1][2][3]

CDSU is located in the Old US Embassy building in Osu, Accra, Ghana.[4]

Notable alumni

  • Zimran Clottey – A member of the 2019 graduating class. In 2022, during CDSU’s 7th anniversary celebrations, Clottey and fellow alumni from his 2019 cohort group contributed a substantial donation of educational materials to the university’s Digital Diplomacy Resource Centre..[5]

CDSU has published an open-access academic book titled *Consular & Diplomatic Service University (CDSU)*, hosted on Wikiversity. The book explores the history, theory, and practice of diplomatic relations, with case studies from CDSU and the African Diplomatic Organization. It serves as a resource for students and professionals in international relations and consular services.[6]

Treaty and Declaration

The Treaty and Declaration establishing the Consular & Diplomatic Service University (CDSU) was officially adopted by the African Diplomatic Organization (ADO) and the African Union Youth Assembly (AUYA) on December 9, 2015. It grants CDSU autonomous status under the Continental Treaty and outlines its mission, governance, and international partnerships.
