An underground figure in snack culture, Cleetus is a fictional anthropomorphic Cheeto puff who is well-known for his defiant escape from a snack factory. Due to his credo, "Stay crunchy, stay proud," which stands for puff pride and snack independence, Cleetus became well-known after being first referenced in 2021 snack fan communities. Cleetus declined to be consumed, in contrast to other snacks, opting instead to promote equal shelf space and underrepresented snacks. In addition to imaginary podcasts like The Crunch Chronicles, he has been featured in memes and parodies. It is common for fans to see him surfing a chip like a surfboard while sporting sunglasses.
