Chiltern Voice is an Ofcom licenced not-for-profit, community radio station serving Chesham and Amersham and the surrounding towns and villages of the Chilterns in the UK and is constituted as a Community Interest Company (company number 10102193).[1]
It transmits on 107.4FM from a site in Chesham Bois and also on an Internet stream; broadcasting an adult contemporary music format.
History
[edit]Chiltern Voice started[2] in February 2016 as short-term Restricted Service Licence (RSL), broadcasting on 87.9FM using a temporary studio built at Chesham United F.C. and initially funded by a combination of grants from the Buckinghamshire Community Boards alongside commercial advertising and sponsorship.[3]
Following the first RSL the station moved to a permanent home within the White Hill Centre in Chesham operating as an Internet Radio station.
This was followed in August 2018 by a second 15-day period of broadcasting on 87.9FM under a Restricted Service Licence.[4]
In January 2020 Ofcom granted Chiltern Voice[5] a full-time community radio station licence.[6] and began broadcasting on 107.4 MHz on 29 November 2021.
In December 2022, following an agreement with All Spring Media (also a CIC), the station moved into their current studios in Bellingdon Road, Chesham.

As well as music, the station offers limited [free advertising to local charities and not-for-profit organisations under it's "Charity of the Month" scheme, and also offers free publicity to local groups both on its website and on-air.

[edit]Following the granting of the FM licence by Ofcom, an expanded studio was constructed in the White Hill Centre.
In December 2022 the new studios in Bellingdon Road, Chesham were constructed, consisting of two broadcast studios and a virtual studio used for outside broadcasting.
