Bristol, UK based authentic Samba collective band with active members from Brazil, London, Bristol and Barry! [1] Bloco B specialise in Brazilian samba and stage shows as well as offering weekly training and masterclass workshops in Bristol, UK.
Bloco B was born out of Bristol’s ‘Bloco dos Sujos’ (directed by Paul Baxter) in 2018 and continues to teach, perform and celebrate samba under the new leadership of Terry Moore and musical director Matt Manley.
The collective have played many UK venues and festivals including Glastonbury Festival in 2023[2], not only opening the Truth Stage but also as special guests for Craig Charles's Funk & Soul DJ set [3] and Basement Jaxx's [4] secret set on the same stage over the weekend. That same weekend they also played various other stages including The Greenpeace Stage [5] and the crew bar at West Holts. Other festivals the collective have played Swingamajig, Secret Garden Party, Shambala Festival, Nozstock, Kendal Calling as well as the Bristol St. Paul's Carnival and Bath carnival respectively. In 2024 the collective collaborated with the Malmesbury School on a project teaching the pupils samba that led them to open the Open Air Stage at WOMAD.
