Bijoy Ekattor Hall (Bengali: বিজয় একাত্তর হল) is a residential hall for male students at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. Named after the victory of Bangladesh in 1971, the hall symbolizes the spirit of independence and patriotism. It is one of the newest halls in the university, inaugurated in 2013.
History
[edit]The idea for Bijoy Ekattor Hall was conceived as part of a broader initiative to accommodate the growing number of students at the University of Dhaka. The hall was officially inaugurated on 14 November 2013 by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The hall was named "Bijoy Ekattor" to commemorate Bangladesh’s victory in the Liberation War of 1971 (Ekattor means '71 in Bengali, referring to the year 1971). The decision reflects the university's ongoing tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters.
The first provost appointed to the hall was Professor Dr. Abu Jafar Md. Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, from the Department of Television and Film Studies. He took charge on 6 January 2014 and played a key role in organizing the administrative and residential structure of the hall.

- Residential students: Around 1,700
- Non-residential students: Around 1,600
