Chanan directed and co-wrote the Channel 4 television film Cyberbully (2015), starring Maisie Williams.[3]

In October 2018, trade press reported that Chanan had written and would direct and executive produce the BBC thriller series The Capture for Heyday Television, with Callum Turner and Holliday Grainger cast in lead roles.[4]

Variety reported in 2020 that Chanan created, wrote and directed all six episodes of the first series and would return for the second.[2] The second series aired in 2022, and Chanan discussed the series and its themes in UK press interviews. [7]

In 2025, trade publication Televisual reported that the BBC had ordered a third series of The Capture, describing it as created and written by Chanan, with him also credited as an executive producer.[8] Drama Quarterly later reported further developments about the BBC return of the series. [9]
