Ballad for the Medic is a Hebrew hymn written by Dan Almagor in 1956, composed by Efi Netzer in 1968, and arranged by Shimon Cohen . It gained great publicity and success following its first place win at the 1969 Hebrew Song and Chorus Festival, performed by Yehoram Gaon.[1]

Ballad for the Medic

Suddenly, a cloud of dust; suddenly the wind rose,

And there's a shadow on the ground, and it's approaching, loud.

"We're saved, they are coming!" cried the wounded man.

But heard not a word from the medic

"My brother, my brother!" cried the wounded man.

Across the river, the reeds rustle.

My brother, my brother!

My brother, my brother!

My brother!!!

- The last verse of the song
