Astro @15 was the first 24-hour interactive channel in Malaysia. It was initially broadcasted through channel 15 (hence, Astro "@15") until channel renumbering into three digits that applied to all channels which led this channel moved to channel 109. In spite of that, the channel kept it's '@15' name. Astro @15 launched back in 26th July 2003 in conjunction with Astro's new logo (lowercase letter Gotham font), indicated that Astro @15 was the first channel to received a new look that's completely skewed off from the rest of Astro's channels' branding at the time.
This television channel offered its viewers the option to send messages, which would be displayed on screen while following the programs being broadcast (usually Malay programs) as well as music videos of popular songs.
The channel ceased transmission at midnight in 1st May 2012, which its channel slot would later be taken by Astro Mustika HD in 21st May 2012 whereas the former's programmes were carried by other Astro's Malay channels.
History
[edit]Astro introduced a first temporary channel in conjunction with Eid al-Fitr in 2002 called "Raya@8". Raya@8 was a special channel that was broadcast in channel 8 and ran 13 hours (11:00-00:00) from 6 to 15 December 2002.[1] Viewers are able to registered their accounts before the new chat was opened.
Astro @15 launched in 26th July 2003 in conjunction with new Astro logo at the time.
This channel ended in 1st May 2012. Customer feedback indicates that Astro subscribers no longer need to waste their credits on the telecommunications services they are subscribed to.
