AngelouEconomics (AE) is an American economic development consultancy based in Austin, Texas. Founded by Angelos Angelou, the firm specializes in site selection, economic development strategy, policy advisory, and international business development.[1]

History

AngelouEconomics was established in 1995 in Austin, Texas, by Angelos Angelou as a consulting firm focused on economic development and site selection.[2]The company has helped cities, regions, and corporations create efficient growth strategies and attract sustainable business opportunities.[3]

Since its founding, the firm has conducted over 650 economic development strategies for its local and foreign clients and the location of nearly $18 billion in capital investments for Fortune 1000 Companies throughout the world.[4][5]

  • Texas CCUS Economic Impact Study (2024) - The firm conducted a comprehensive economic impact study for the Texas Association of Business (TAB), detailing the potential financial benefits and job creation from carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects across 12 counties in Texas.[7]
  • ConocoPhillips Learning Center (2008) – AngelouEconomics led a multi-state site selection process evaluating over 25 locations across the central U.S., ultimately recommending the 432-acre former StorageTek campus in Louisville, Colorado, based on its strong site characteristics and advantages.[8]
  • Formula 1 United States Grand Prix Economic Impact Study (2023) – AngelouEconomics conducted an economic impact analysis for Circuit of The Americas (COTA), estimating the F1 race’s total impact at approximately $980 million—including $434 million in direct spending—making it one of Texas’s largest annual events and a key factor in COTA’s funding applications under the state’s Major Events Reimbursement Program.[9]
