Al Ready (born August 5, 1977) is a Canadian-American professional baseball former player and current college baseball coach. He is currently the head coach of the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds baseball team.
Coaching career
[edit]Ready began coaching at UIndy in 2004 and was promoted to head coach in May 2018.[2] Since taking over, he has led the team to multiple NCAA DII tournament appearances and back-to-back college world series berths in 2023 and 2024.[3]
Playing career
[edit]Ready played as a catcher for UIndy from 2000–2001. He was a Second-Team All-American on the Indianapolis Greyhounds team that made it to the semi-finals at the 2000 DII college world series in Montgomery, AL. Ready was a First-Team Academic All-American in 2001. He finished his career holding several program records in RBI and walks.[4] He later played professional baseball for the London Werewolves and Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League.[5]
