Ajith Vinayaka Films (AVF) is an Indian film production and distribution company founded by Ajithkumar Sudhakaran and Sarath Kumar in 2020. It mainly produces and distributes Malayalam language films. The company has grown into one of the biggest production houses of Malayalam cinema with films including [2] Saturday Night (2022),Bandra(2023),[3] Gaganachari (2024),[4] and Ponman (2025).[5]

History

In 2022, The first venture of the production company was Saturday Night directed by Rosshan Andrrews starring Nivin Pauly in lead role which met with negative reviews and became a commercial failure.[6] Their second production was Dhabari Quruvi made in Irula language which premiered in multiple film festivals.[7] In 2023, two films were released, Madanolsavam and Bandra. Out of which Madanolsavam recieved positive response and emerged as an average grosser.[8][9] Whereas Bandra was panned by critics and audience and ended up as a box office bomb.[10] In 2024, Gaganachari was released which won multiple accoldes including the 2023 special jury Kerala State Film Awards for its innovative storytelling.[11]In the same year Kanaka Rajyam and Thrayam also released.[12] In 2025, Ponman starring Basil Joseph was released and received critical acclaim from both critics and audience and emerged as a commercial success.[13]

Controversy

On 15 November 2023, the owner of the company, Ajithkumar filed a petition in court demanding action against seven vloggers who gave negative reviews against his film Bandra, alleging that, negative reviews turned his film, a commercial disaster.[14][15][16]
