Agentforce is an agentic ai platform developed by Salesforce.[1][2]The platform enables organizations to build and deploy autonomous AI agents to perform business tasks without human intervention.[3][4][5]
Overview
[edit]Agentforce provides AI agents that can work autonomously across customer service, sales, marketing, and other business functions.[5][6] The platform operates by retrieving real-time data, building action plans for specific tasks, and executing those plans without requiring human oversight for routine operations.[7][8]
Agentforce integrates with Salesforce's existing ecosystem, including Salesforce Data Cloud and Slack, and can be extended to external systems through MuleSoft integration capabilities.[9]
History
[edit]Agentforce was first announced by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff at Dreamforce 2024.[10]The platform became generally available on October 25, 2024, as a low-code (or no-code) solution for deploying chatbots for employees and customers.[11]
Agentforce 2.0 was announced in December 2024, including “a new library of pre-built agent skills”.[12]Agentforce 2dx was released in March 2025,[13] and was followed by Agentforce 3.0, which added native Model Context Protocol support (MCP) and platform observability.[14][15]
