Accredify Pte Ltd is a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company headquartered in Singapore. It provides an end-to-end platform for creating, issuing, and authenticating tamper-proof digital credentials.[1]
History
[edit]Accredify was established in 2019 by Quah Zheng Wei, Shaun John Cheetham, Edmund Chew, and Derrick Lee. In 2020 and 2021, the company raised a total of USD 2.6 million across seed and bridging rounds, with investment from Qualgro, LuneX Ventures, Endeavour Ventures, K2 Global, Pavilion Capital, and DeFinance Capital.[2] In April 2023, Accredify raised USD 7 million in a Series A funding round led by iGlobe Partners and SIG Venture Capital, with participation from Pavilion Capital and Qualgro.[3] In March 2024, the company received additional funding from Okta Ventures.[4]
Operations
[edit]Accredify's core product is a document management platform that allows users to create and authenticate tamper-proof digital documents. The technology incorporates blockchain-based authentication and is used across sectors such as education, healthcare, corporate services, defence, and aviation.[5][6]
Notable Projects and Contributions
[edit]In 2020, Accredify collaborated with Singapore’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Manpower to issue tamper-proof digital discharge memos for migrant workers recovering from COVID-19.[7]
In 2021, it co-developed HealthCerts, Singapore’s national standard for digital COVID-19 swab results, with GovTech, the Ministry of Health, and Temasek.[8][9][10] The standard was adopted by Singapore Airlines for pre-departure testing verification.[11]
In 2023, Accredify worked with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) to launch trustBar, a blockchain initiative to enhance business transparency within the country.[12]
In 2024, Accredify partnered with Singapore’s National Healthcare Group (NHG) to launch the NHG Cares Partners Portal, a platform to coordinate healthcare and social services.[13]
Awards and Recognition
[edit]Accredify has been listed in HolonIQ’s “Top 50 Southeast Asia EdTech Firms” from 2020 to 2023.[14][15][16][17]
In 2022, it received the "Blockchain – Education" award from the Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards,[18] and was named one of the top two EdTech startups at the 2022 G20 Bali summit.[19] Other awards in 2022 included “Startup Leader of the Year (Web 3 Disruptor)” from the Origin Innovation Awards[20] and two Channel Asia Innovation Awards.[21]
In 2023, Accredify was awarded the President’s Certificate of Commendation (COVID-19) by Singapore’s President Halimah Yacob.[22] The company was also included in Forbes Asia 100 to Watch,[23] and won multiple industry awards, including “Most Promising Innovation (Gold)" at Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authoritiy's SG:D Techblazer Awards.[24] Accredify was also recognised as Overall Champion at GITEX's Supernova Challenge.[25][26][27]
In 2024, Accredify received the AWS Local Software Partner of the Year award[28] and the “Challenge Owner” and “Audience” awards from the Singapore-Japan Fast Track Pitch.[29]
