The NSU Tribhuvan University Committee had presented Anoj Karki as its candidate for the campus presidency, whilst the NSU central organisation presented Deepak Raj Joshi as the NSU candidate.[36] The Election Committee consulted the NSU centre as to whom was the genuine candidate and thus recognized Joshi's candidature, a move that provoked padlocking of the campus by the NSU Tribhuvan University Committee president Bishnu Badaila.[36] After the NSU faction lifted the padlocking of the campus the election was postponed to March 22, 2025, but was further delayed due to a writ petition by Badaila and other at the Patan High Court.[21][36][39] Election was held on March 31, 2025.[35] 3,118 students out of 6,146 eligible voters voted in the election.[21][37][35] Deepakraj Joshi of NSU got 789 votes in the election for president, the ANNFSU candidate 781 votes, ANNISU(R) candidate got 727 votes, independent Ujjwal Khadka got 517 votes and Padma Bhusal 166 votes.[35] |

No FSU election has been held at Prithvi Narayan Campus since 2009.[43] Prithvi Narayan Campus is the largest campus of TU, and since the FSU of Prithvi Narayan Campus has a history of producing prominent political leaders the ballot there is given national attention.[44][41][45] The FSU committee to be elected would have 11 First Past the Post seats and 10 Proportional Representation seats.[41] There were eight candidates for the post of president - ANNFSU, ANNISU(R), NSU, ANNISU(6th), Academic Student Council Nepal, Joint Panel and two independents.[43][45] The Joint Panel was an electoral bloc formed by ANNFSU (Unified Socialist), ANNISU(R) Vaidhya, Akhil Samajbadi and ANNISU(R) Majority.[46] The Joint Panel fielded Santosh Poudel from ANNFSU (Unified Socialist) as its presidential candidate.[46] Nine groups fielded candidates for the proportional representation seats - ANNFSU, ANNISU(R), NSU, ANNISU(6th), ANNISU(R) Vaidhya, ANNFSU (Unified Socialist), Akhil Samajbadi, Academic Student Council Nepal and Naya Shakti Student Union.[43] There were 9,270 eligible voters at the campus, but only 7,404 voter IDs had been issued.[43][41] 2,896 voters cast their ballots in the First Past the Post election and 2,892 voters took part in the Proportional Representation election.[44] It was the lowest voter turnout in the history of FSU elections at Prithvi Narayan Campus.[45] ANNFSU candidate Bishnu Pokhrel won the presidential election with 1,106 votes, followed by Sushil Neupane of NSU (503 votes), independent candidate Biplav Neupane (469 votes), Navin Adhikari of ANNISU(R) (223 votes), Santosh Poudel of Joint Panel (196 votes), independent candidate Kamal Subedi (99 votes) and Milan Sunar of ANNISU(6th) (28 votes).[42] ANNFSU won the posts of secretary, treasurer and all of the remaining 8 First Past the Post seats.[42] In the election for the 10 Proportional Representation seats, ANNFSU won 4 seats (1,197 votes), NSU 3 seats (690 votes), ANNFSU (Unified Socialist) 1 seat (305 votes), Academic Student Council Nepal 1 seat (145 votes) and ANNISU(R) 1 seat (112 votes).[42] |

Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus | Biratnagar | Morang | Koshi | ANNISU(R) candidate Rohit Yadav won the presidency at the Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus.[13][52] The campus is seen as a traditional bastion of NSU.[52] Internal turmoil within NSU marred the election.[17] There were 7 candidates for the FSU presidency at the campus, including candidates of both NSU factions.[52] On February 27, 2025 three NSU students beloning to the Shekhar Koirala faction were injured in an attack by the Deuba faction.[53] On March 14, 2025 police arrested six students, including the FSU president, for vandalism at a NSU faction protest at the campus.[54]
2,631 out of 5,984 eligible voters took part in the election.[52] Yadav of ANNISU(R) obtained 1,118 votes against 1,075 votes for Prajwal Bista (Hakku) of the NSU.[52] Anish Bogati of ANNFSU got 232 votes, dissident NSU candidate Yogdaj Dahal 60 votes, Anisha Rai of ANNISU(R) Majority 31 votes, Rupesh Singh of Student Janmat Union 30 votes and Bivas Katuwal of Academic Students Council Nepal 20 votes.[52] However ANNISU(R) did not win any other First Past the Post seats apart from the presidency.[52] NSU won seven posts, including secretary and treasurer.[52] In the election to secretary the NSU candidate got 741 votes against 588 for the Socialist Students Union Nepal.[52] In the election to treasurer the NSU candidate got 893 votes, against 827 votes to the ANNISU(R) candidate.[52] In the election for the Proportional Representation seats NSU got 1,111 votes and the ANNISU(R) got 811 votes.[52] |

[edit]- Nawalpur District - Together the ANNFSU and ANNFSU (Unified Socialist) padlocked 9 out of 10 campuses in Nawalpur District, disrupting the elections there.[66] At the Janamakhi Adarsh Campus in Gaindakot the padlock was lifted after a consensus was reached - NSU panel was elected unanimously, whilst NSU, ANNFSU, ANNFSU (Unified Socialist) and ANNISU(R) unanimously shared the Proportional Representation seats.[67]
Koshi Province
[edit]- Bhojpur District - ANNFSU won the presidency at Shadananda Multiple Campus in Dingla.[13]
- Dhankuta District - NSU won the election at Jitpur Campus unopposed.[68] ANNFSU won the elections at Hille Campus and Jalpadevi Campus unopposed.[68] NSU won the elections at Gokundeshwar Campus and Budhuk Campus.[13]
- Ilam District - At in Garuva Multiple Campus in Mai and Ektappa Multiple Campus in Phakphokthum NSU won the elections unopposed.[13][47] ANNFSU won the election at Mangalbare Multiple Campus in Deumai unopposed.[13][47]
- Jhapa District - There were 10,301 eligible voters at 11 affiliated campuses in Jhapa District were FSU elections were being held.[48] The largest electorate was present at Damak Multiple Campus, with 3,702 eligible voters.[48] 10 student organisations took part in the election at Damak Multiple Campus.[48] ANNFSU won the elections at Tridev Multiple Campus, Gauradaha Multiple Campus and Sita Ramesh Multiple Campus (Budhabare).[13] NSU won the elections at Damak Multiple Campus, Kakarvitta Multiple Campus, Gaurigung Multiple Campus, Kankai Adarsha Campus, Indra Chandra Campus, Kankai Multiple Campus (Surunga) and Shanishchare Multiple Campus (Arjundhara).[13] At Garamani Campus in Birtamod, which had the smallest electorate in the district with only 90 eligible voters, the National Democratic Student Organisation won the presidency with 23 votes against 8 votes for NSU and 6 votes for ANNFSU.[48][69][70]
- Khotang District - No FSU election was held at any of the 7 affiliated campuses in the district.[71] ANNFSU had protested a measure allowing only students enrolled by January 24, 2025 to be included in the voters list at Diktel Multiple Campus.[72] The Election Commission failed to reach an agreement with the student organisations, and the vote was cancelled at all seven campuses.[71][72]
- Morang District - ANNISU(R) won the elections at the Ramailo Campus in Kanepokhari and the Miklajung Campus in Morang.[51][73] NSU won the elections at the Urlabari Campus in Urlabari, Letang Campus and the Pathari Multiple Campus in Morang.[51][73][13] ANNFSU won the election at the Khadam Campus in Kerabari.[51][13] At Sukuna Multiple Campus ANNFSU candidate Elis Ojha, supported by all communist factions, won the presidency with 985 votes against 686 for the NSU candidate.[52] Elis Ojha's panel won 8 out of 10 proportional representation seats.[73] There were 3,682 eligible voters at the campus.[73] At Belbari Multiple Campus the election was postponed to March 22.[73][74] When the election was held at Belbari Multiple Campus ANNISU(R) won the posts of president and treasurer whilst ANNFSU won the post of secretary.[74]
- Panchthar District - At Panchthar Multiple Campus the NSU presidential candidate was supported by ANNISU(R), the Federal Students Union and the National Democratic Students Organisation. The ANNFSU candidate was supported by ANNFSU (Unified Socialist) and another Federal Students Union. The NSU candidate won with 196 votes against 137 votes for the ANNFSU candidate. ANNISU(R) won the post of secretary and NSU the post of treasurer.[75]
- Sankhuwasabha District - ANNFSU presidential candidate elected unopposed at Sankhuwasabha Multiple Campus.[76] At the remaining 3 campuses in the district only NSU, ANNFSU and ANNISU(R) fielded candidates.[77] ANNFSU won the election at Madi Multiple Campus.[13] NSU won the election at Barun Multiple Campus.[13]
- Solukhumbu District - NSU won the election at Dudhakoshi Multiple Campus.[13] The election was postponed at Sotang Public Campus, after ANNISU(R) padlocked the campus in protest of fake voters being registered.[78]
- Sunsari District - NSU won the elections at Sunsari Multiple Campus, Mahendra Multiple Campus, Purwanchal Campus and Saptakoshi Multiple Campus.[13] ANNFSU won the election at the Pindeshwor Campus.[13]
- Taplejung District - At the Pathibhara Multiple Campus in Phungling the NSU, ANNFSU and ANNISU(R) reached an agreement and a joint panel was elected unopposed. NSU got the post of president, ANNFSU the post of secretary and ANNISU(R) the post of treasurer.[79]
- Tehrathum District - The election at Tehrathum Multiple Campus was postponed. In the end NSU, ANNFSU and ANNISU(R) reached a power-sharing deal shortly before the April 2, 2025 deadline, avoiding to hold an election. NSU got the post of president, ANNFSU the post of secretary and ANNISU(R) the post of treasurer.[80]
Sudurpashchim Province
[edit]- Baitadi District - NSU won the presidency at the Gram Prakash Multiple Campus Sarmali in Baitadi and the Shrikot Multiple Campus Khochalek.[81] At the Setigaun Multiple Campus Gokuleshwar a joint NSU-ANNISU(R) candidate was elected president.[81]
- Bajhang District - NSU, ANNFSU and ANNFSU (Unified Socialist) won the presidential posts at Triveni Aardash Campus Bijgada, Sunkuda Campus and Jhota Bajhangdeep Campus respectively.[81]
- Doti District - ANNISU(R) won the presidency at Kedar Surya Multiple Campus Bipinagar.[81] The ANNISU(R) candidate got 46 votes, whilst the NSU candidate got 37 votes.[62] ANNFSU won the post of secretary, defeating the NSU candidate.[62] NSU the post of treasurer, defeating the ANNISU(R) candidate.[62]
- Kailali District - at Phulbari Campus in Kailali NSU won the presidency, defeating the ANNFSU candidate.[58] Akhil Samajbadi won the post of secretary and ANNISU(R) the post of treasurer at the Phulbari Campus.[58] Likewise NSU won the posts of FSU president at Mahunyal Multiple Campus Bhajani, Raghunath Adarsh Multiple Campus, Birendra Vidya Mandir and Aishwarya Buhumukhi Campus.[81] ANNISU(R) won the FSU presidency at Lamki Multiple Campus, National College Sukhkhar, Bulbule Campus and Khaptad Multiple Campus Masuria.[81]
- Kanchanpur District - NSU won the president post at Janata Multiple Campus in Punarbas, Kanchan Multiple Campus, Bhanu Multiple Campus of Dodhara Chandani and Rauleshwor Janata Adarsh Multiple Campus in Beldandi.[81][82] ANNISU(R) won the presidential post at Mahakali Multiple Campus in Belauri.[82] At Rampur Multiple Campus in Belauri, a campus with 14 students, 13 students voted.[81] The ANNISU(R) candidate Rabina Rana was elected president with 8 votes.[81][82]
