9133587 Pablo  Gabon crude oil tanker The ship had various owners and was sold to an undisclosed buyer for demolition. However, a few days later, the deal quietly fell through, and the vessel began operating in the shadows of Iranian and Russian ghost fleets.

The registered owner is Pablo Union Shipping, is a shell company that cannot be traced.

1997 Pablo transported heavy fuel oil used for electricity generation in March 2024 most probably from Russia, according to Kpler, via several transshipmentson the high seas. On first of May 2024 an explosion happened aboard Pablo off the coast of Malaysia, in one of the busiest shipping channels in the world. Out of the 28 crew members on board, officials report that 25 were rescued by passing vessels. Two Indians and one Ukrainian were not found.[27]

The vessel was abandoned for at least 128 days, untended, at anchor at the place of the incident. As of 2025 the ship is in service again.

The vessel, named than Kiwala, had been reportedly operating under the flag of Djibouti, but was caught not flying a flag. Djibouti naval authority said it could not find the ship Kiwala in its national registry.[28] The vessel was held 16 days and released after correcting 40 deficiencies.

The explosion caused a one-metre inward breach below the waterline on the hull at Savona-Vado port in northern Italy. A second blast occurred 20 minutes later on the same vessel without causing further damage.

Italian prosecutors have opened an investigation.
