Brough is a village and civil parish in Eden, Cumbria, England. In 2001 there were 680 people living in Brough.[1]

The village is on the site of the Roman fort of Verterae ("The Forts"),[2] on the northern leg of the Roman-era Watling Street, linking Luguvalium (Carlisle) with Eboracum (York) and points south.
