Blake Garrett

Nolan Blake Garrett (September 14, 1992 – February 8, 2026) was an American actor, known primarily for his work as a child actor, especially for his role as Plug in the comedy film How to Eat Fried Worms.[1]

Garrett was born on September 14, 1992, in Austin.[2] From a young age, he was involved in acting, appearing in local theater productions such as Aladdin and His Magical Lamp, Peanuts: A Charlie Brown Tribute, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, and Grease. At age 10, Garrett joined Barney's Colorful World International Tour, performing roles in the live show.[3]

Garrett made his most well-known film appearance in 2006 with the movie How to Eat Fried Worms, a family comedy based on the children's novel of the same name. In it, he played Plug, one of the protagonist's classmates. His performance was part of the cast that won the Young Artist Award for Best Child Ensemble in a Motion Picture at the 2007 Young Artist Awards.[4]

After his time as a child actor, Garrett led a relatively private life. He struggled with addiction, managing to stay sober in the years leading up to his death. I have lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma.[5]

Blake Garrett died on February 8, 2026, at the age of 33 [6] after being hospitalized for shingles.
