Bella Render is a spectral physically-based rendering engine developed by Diffuse Logic, a software company based in Barcelona, Spain. It has native plugins for Autodesk Maya, Rhinoceros 3D, and SketchUp, and also a stand alone program called Bella GUI that can import supported files for rendering. Bella has a demo mode that is unlimited time and free that allows up to 1080p rendering with a watermark.[2][3][4][5]

Compatibility

[edit]

Bella for Rhino

[edit]

Bella has a plugin for Rhinoceros 3D for interactive real-time rendering. The plugin supports Rhino’s native geometry, materials, and lighting, while also allowing the assignment of Bella specific materials and render settings.[6][7]

Bella for Maya

[edit]

The Bella plugin for Autodesk Maya provides real-time rendering and uses Maya's native node based modeling system along with Bella's assets for materials, cameras, and lighting.[8]

Bella for Sketchup

[edit]

The Bella for SketchUp plugin allows for materials and lighting from Bella right in the Sketchup environment, but does not have node based controls, there is a bridge that exports to Bella GUI for more advanced Bella settings for rendering.[9]

Bella GUI

[edit]

Bella GUI is a stand alone application for exporting files to Bella GUI for more advanced native controls like node-based rendering, material editing, and lighting.[10][11]

File formats supported

[edit]

Import file formats supported to Bella GUI include OBJ, FBX, DAE, 3DS, and STL.[12]
