Asad Ali Memon (Urdu: اسد علی میمن) (born 1998) is a Pakistani mountaineer and adventurer best known for completing the Seven Summits challenge, climbing the highest mountains on each of the seven continents [1]. He is among the youngest Pakistanis and only from Province of Sindh to achieve this feat, representing Pakistan on the world's tallest peaks from Asia to Oceania..[2][3]
Early life and education
[edit]Asad Ali Memon was born in 1998 in Larkana, Sindh, Pakistan [4]. Growing up far from the mountains of northern Pakistan, Memon developed a fascination with adventure and exploration from an early age. Despite belonging to a region not traditionally associated with mountaineering, he pursued his passion with determination, aiming to showcase that mountain dreams know no boundaries.
He studied in Pakistan and later focused his time and resources on professional mountaineering, combining athletic discipline with a spirit of national representation.
He completed his school from The City School, Larkana and later earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) in Karachi.[5]
Mountaineering expeditions
[edit]Asad began his climbing career in the late 2016s, gradually advancing from local climbs to international expeditions. His early ascents included treks and climbs across Pakistan’s northern ranges, where he honed his technical and endurance skills.
Over the years, he became recognized for his Seven Summits Project, known as “7Summits Challenge[6]”, an ambitious campaign to summit the highest peaks of each continent under the Pakistani flag.
The Seven Summits
Memon’s Seven Summits record includes:
Asia: Mount Everest (8,848 m) – Nepal/Tibet [7]
South America: Aconcagua (6,962 m) – Argentina [8]
North America: Denali (6,190 m) – United States [9]
Europe: Mount Elbrus (5,642 m) – Russia
Africa: Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) – Tanzania
Antarctica: Mount Vinson (4,892 m) – Antarctica [10]
Oceania: Carstensz Pyramid / Puncak Jaya (4,884 m) – Indonesia[11][12]
He completed his final climb, Carstensz Pyramid, in October 2025, marking the completion of his Seven Summits journey and becoming one of the very few Pakistanis to do so.
In August 2019, Memon summited Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe at 5,642 meters.[13][14]

On May 21, 2023, Memon became the first climber from Sindh to summit Mount Everest, reaching the peak at 8,848 meters.[5]
