Advance Publications, Inc. is a privately held American media business. It is owned by the families of Donald Newhouse and Samuel Irving Newhouse Jr. Their father Samuel Irving Newhouse Sr. started the business. It owns publishing businesses. These businesses include American City Business Journals, MLive Media Group, and Condé Nast. It was started in 1924. It is named after the Staten Island Advance. This was the first newspaper owned by the Newhouse family.
