7th Generation Network

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 7th generation of technology is a far-off concept. It will appear most likely by 2050, and is expected to have faster speeds, lower latency, and higher processing then ever seen before.

Capabilities

[edit]

It is expected to have almost no latency (delay). AI also may be used to solve to find networking solutions.[1] Additionally, it is expected to be able to transport large amounts of data over longer distances, to different places.[2]

New technologies akin to the cell phone with 3G or AI with 5G are expected. This could include advancements in the health, education, and even safety fields.[3] With AI teachers being possible by its roll out, the impact of this technology within higher education could be significant. Roll out

[edit]

The roll out of of the seventh generation of networking happens in a few separate parts:[citation needed]

The first part is the defining phase. In this part, the connecting power, capabilities, latency, and other characteristics needed for it to be considered said generation are determined. This stage usually happens several years, sometimes even decades before its roll out. It is currently (May 22, 2025) happening for 6G. It will most likely happen to 7G around the late 2020s.

The second stage to the development stage, where the tech is developed. Plans for where it will cover are made, and the hardware and structures needed are built. For 5G, it happening in the late 2010s, so it will most likely happen to 7G in the early 2030s.

The final stage is the roll out stage, where the tech is commercially available. Most times it is first available in some select areas, before being available to other places. Usually Japan, Korea, and North America, followed by Europe, Asia, latin America, Australia, and Africa. This will happen around 2035-2037.
