The season began on 5 April and concluded on 22 September, comprising an 18-match home-and-away season over 21 rounds, followed by a four-week finals series.
Richmond reserves won the premiership for the first time, defeating Williamstown by three points in the 2019 VFL Grand Final. It was Richmond's third overall VFA/VFL premiership, following premierships won by its senior team in 1902 and 1905.[1]
