Hello, everybody. I would like to nominate myself for adminship.
About me: I must state that I have been working here anonymously a long way back – here and there I fixed some typos, added some sources etc. Not very big and significant edits at all. But I became interested in this Wiki two months ago, when I unintentionally clicked an Interwiki link towards here. It was really fascinating me. I thought that a simple English Wikipedia should be very useful for English-learning people – and therefore also for me. This is why I decided to become more active here. After a few weeks, I really became more excited. You know, here's an working atmosphere that my former homewiki – de.wikipedia – didn't have, not now and not hereafter. Editors were really kind to each other—and to me. The working climate was more relaxed. So I decided to leave the German Wikipedia (where I had been more than 1,5 years with around 3,000 contribs) to spend more time here. I will never forget what Simple English Wikipedia's target is: the mediation of easy-to-understand knowledge. That's why I spent and will spend more than a half of my time and contributions in the Article namespace. But a wiki also relies on organisation and maintenance. I believe that writing and improving articles are very important factors; but I also believe that maintaining is also important. Maintenance can rely on templates to keep organisation. That's why templates are so important. And because I'm a (addicted) hobby programmer, you can and will see me editing in the template namespace. Programming is an unique thing of controlling things – and that is why I'm so interested in HTML, CSS, Java Script etc.
Why Admin? Well, you don't need administrator rights for creating/editing articles or templates—work that I'm focusing on. So they aren't necessary—but useful. You know, quick deletion requests or admin requests aren't handled as fast as we all wish they could to. Additional manpower cannot harm anything. Every admin action I handle will relieve other admins—and enhance the workflow. My goal is to be another helping hand here—a small cog in the big mechanism of Wikipedia. - I'm on the fence. You haven't been here very long. We can't really take the IP edits into account since we can't identify them. You have done some good things for the infrastructure, but they aren't things you need to be an admin for. I guess I'd like to see you comment on admin actions you've seen here: what did you agree with, what did you disagree with, what would you do the same, what would you do differently? Under what circumstances would you decline to take an administrative action that an editor asked for? --Auntof6 (talk) 19:26, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with Auntof6. You really haven't been here for long (just a month) and have a mere 25 QD requests and 3 VIP reports (unless I've missed some, in which case I apologise). I think this comes a bit too early but I will wait and see what some other editors think first. -Mh7kJ (talk) 19:40, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comments. I will try to be more active in admin's affairs (like AfD etc.). --weltforce (talk) 20:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
