This is my voter guide for the 2020 ArbCom elections. I don’t expect anyone to read this or find this useful, but I was going t end up making something like this anyway so I might as well put it here.

Note: if you want to see symbols next to the support/oppose/neutral text in this table, may I recommend the Vote Symbols userscript?

Barkeep49 (talk · contribs) Support First of all, I must commend Barkeep for their in-depth platform. After reading the platform, I can say that I value Barkeep’s nuanced opinions on the WMF and its recent initiatives (IP masking, Code of Conduct). While ArbCom wasn’t created for the purpose of “talking to the WMF”, it has indeed become a role of theirs, as we learned during WP:FRAMGATE. Has been flooded with endorsements on their discussion page, most notably from Risker (who would be another easy support if they ran for ArbCom).

Hawkeye7 (talk · contribs) Oppose One of the most important criteria for me when deciding on which arbs to vote for is whether they have the community’s trust. A big part of that is looking at users’ permissions. Hawkeye was desysopped for cause in 2012, and ran for adminship again in 2016 and 2019; both attempts were close, but unsuccessful. As such, I have to oppose this candidate.

Guerillero (talk · contribs) Neutral Former arb.
SMcCandlish (talk · contribs) Oppose This candidate is a bit different from Hawkeye in that SMC has never been an admin. However, given that we have a number of qualified admins running in this election, I have decided to oppose this candidate. Also displayed some temperament issues after his “humorous” essay in The Signpost was nominated for deletion.
