01:40:51, 4 September 2019 review of draft by Lbrad75344
Lbrad75344 (talk) 01:40, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
Can podcast interviews be cited and used as references?
- @Lbrad75344: - interviews usually aren't suitable for sources anyway because they aren't independent (as functionally all the content is coming from the subject or a related subject)
- In terms of reliability, it could still struggle as it requires editorial control and I don't know if podcasts apply them. A case could be made for things like reliable organisations that also have podcasts Nosebagbear (talk) 09:38, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello am wondering why my draft is taking so long. its 2 months now so i wonder if i made some errors before submission. please help me check and see if everything is right
Omafeni (talk) 08:53, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Omafeni: - in terms of making a submission, it's fine, (I've not reviewed it, just checked it uploaded etc). However, over the last 6 months or so we've received a very high rate of submissions, so our backlog has increased dramatically. The oldest draft has been there for about 14 weeks, so I'm afraid further patience will be needed. Nosebagbear (talk) 09:47, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello,
I have written an article for a Wikipedia page on Abhhyuday, IIT Bombay. But the reviewer has sent a message regarding copyright violation. But I am from the same association for which I am writing the article for Wikipedia page. I require assistance for how should I proceed now.
ShreyasShimpi (talk) 10:52, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- @ShreyasShimpi: - you can't just choose to use copyrighted text even if you're from that organisation and they want you to make it. All text in Wikipedia has to be given a very broad license, and we need evidence the copyright holder wants to give that license. Please bear in mind that would give everyone the right to use the copyrighted text how they wished - you can't just license it to Wikipedia.
- Please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials, and if you're planning on donating both photos and text, you'll need to read all of it. Nosebagbear (talk) 12:07, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello,
I am not posting this as a promotional aspect. Keo is well known in the Denver area and has achieved many awards and has also been a crucial part of the community for years.
Natashajones0329 (talk) 18:48, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- The draft is stuffed with some of the most promotional trumpery I have ever come across in a draft article……“Selflessly, Keo has donated countless hours of time” “the honor of winning more than eight award” “homecoming queen, and prom queen, and was seen as a leader and do-gooder from a young age” “has accomplished more in her young life than most accomplish in a lifetime” “passionate about making positive impacts “ and far more. 19:10:57, 4 September 2019 review of draft by Ellencooper
- Ellencooper (talk · contribs) (TB)
I am a writer, but not a coder! For this article, I wanted to create a section to cite books I consulted for the creation of this article, but I have formatted it incorrectly. The result is a citation has migrated into the body of the article text, and the "Resources" are in a contiguous block - hard to read! I do not know how to correct the formatting and am anxious to not lose the cited books text, so I have frozen like a deer in the headlights!
In addition, I have gotten Dr. Peter Cooke to give permission [Ticket#2019090410006677] to use a photo to attach to this article, and have asked him to identify the article to James Howes at Wikimedia; I should also have another photo of Linda Williamson permitted to the Commons by Peter Dibdin in a day or two. Can you tell me how I will be able to find those photos?
Ultimately, I wanted to create this article, so that I could link it in one about Duncan Williamson. It mentions Linda Headlee with a hyperlink that links to a page with no information. She has been an important figure in this little corner of song/story collecting.
Thank you for your help! Celia Ramsay (aka Ellen Cooper)
Ellencooper (talk) 19:10, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Ellencooper. I left a welcome basket of links on your talk page to help you get oriented. One of the links, Citing sources, leads to much useful information, including Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials describes how someone can license photos appropriately for Wikipedia. I don't know whether the images have already been published online, or what procedure the donors are choosing to follow, so you may need to coordinate with them to answer your question. Or you may be able to find the images on Wikimedia Commons by searching after the donors have uploaded them. The presence or absence of images in the draft will not affect whether it is accepted or not, so they should be your lowest priority. --Worldbruce (talk) 04:48, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
19:41:04, 4 September 2019 review of submission by FinJournalist
- FinJournalist (talk · contribs) (TB)
I believe I cited several high quality news organizations that included interviews with and about the Association. FinJournalist (talk) 19:41, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi FinJournalist. The organization is not notable. The New York Times, The Washington Post, IPO-Edge, Newsweek, and The Real Deal contain passing mentions. The Palm Beach Post has fewer than 100 words about the organization. Financial Post is a reprint of The New York Times. StreetAuthority is authored by the organization's founder. Novice editors are commonly advised to cite at least three independent, reliable, secondary sources that contain significant coverage of their topic. The draft cites zero such sources. --Worldbruce (talk) 13:23, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

I have been trying to put an article together. It has the same links and facts that are published on other pages related to this one. I need help with this as I think I'm doing it correctly then it was declined again. I dont even understand how to reach the person that declined the submission to ask for help. Is there someone I can reach out to that can fix what is wrong? Thank you
TVaughanSoCal (talk) 20:35, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- @TVaughanSoCal: - hi there. The reviewer can be seen at the bottom left of each red box. That will take you to their user page, and then you just need to click on Talk. For you, that is Liance's Talk Page
- If nothing else you need to learn how to do referencing. There's a written out guide at referencing for beginners. If you have a little time (c.65mins) then there's an interactive tutorial at the Wikipedia Adventure. It's a tad entertainingly cliche, but it has a much higher success rate at actually embedding knowledge than purely reading help pages. Nosebagbear (talk) 21:08, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Jaws525 (talk) 23:48, 4 September 2019 (UTC) Hi, I just got the good news that my article on Pamela Longobardi was accepted. But I notice that the 2 photos I had in there were taken out. Why? One (the profile picture) came from Longobardi; the picture of Pam-with-Afghan-boy is a picture I took. Can I put them back? Jaws525 (talk) 23:48, 4 September 2019 (UTC)Jaws525
- Hi Jaws525. I don't see a time when the page had an image in the infobox. In any case, you may only use an image taken by Longobardi if (A) they upload the image to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons or (B) if they go through the process of Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The picture of of Pam with an Afghan boy was deleted, see the discussion at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Fig. 13 PamAfghaniBoy CampLesvos.tif. You should not put it back without adequately addressing the concerns that were raised. --Worldbruce (talk) 04:01, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

00:33:14, 5 September 2019 review of submission by HapHaxion
Hey, I was just wondering: even though I submitted my draft through AfC, I technically have the rights to just create an article outright. Would it be alright if I remove the Draft under AfC and just publish the page? I think I've found enough information for the moment (more can always be added in the future). HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 00:33, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi HapHaxion. You are very strongly discouraged from bypassing AfC for pages, such as Draft:Victoria Barbara, with which you have a conflict of interest. Disregard the guideline at your peril. Another editor recently complained they didn't realize it meant the page would be deleted, which is what happened when they ignored the rule. --Worldbruce (talk) 03:43, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

I am unsure why my sources are unreliable? The sources cite my name in every publication. The publications are some of the UKs largest newspapers?
Maccer123 (talk) 15:12, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Maccer123: - publications can be big without being reliable - tabloids are generally or completely unreliable (depending on circumstance and the specific tabloid).
- Currently you don't actually have any sources either, which is making it very hard to interpret them - you instead have a number of external links. Please have a read of referencing for beginners
- I turned one external link into an example of a reference - there are more and less complicated methods, I chose a fairly easily to duplicate format. One very quick lesson - you can link to other wikipedia articles just by putting them in <nowiki>Subject<nowiki> Nosebagbear (talk) 20:19, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

I think it's important to recognize rising literary authors, and especially so when they are women and immigrants. Thank you for your attention.

Hi. I am requesting a re-review of this as it's a misinterpretation that B-Reel is the "parent company" of B-Reel Films. B-Reel Films (BRF) is an independent film and production studio. B-Reel is a creative (advertising) agency. B-Reel is in no way involved in B-Reel Film's notable work like the film Midsommar, the documentary about Greta Thunberg and the Alicia Vikander feature film Euphoria. Those are B-Reel Films (BRF) productions.
Wikipedia allows separate articles for advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi and M&C Saatchi, even though they are intricately linked. B-Reel and B-Reel Films (BRF) are similarly separate entities. With world famous productions like those aforementioned, it is surprising why B-Reel Films (BRF) would not be considered notable.

Sajacz (talk) 07:01, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Sajacz: - so it was rejected on notability grounds because the only source it had came from the company itself. It also has a marketing tone, "Thanks to this overview", "saving you both time and work" etc. Normally I'd refer you to WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, which explains why you can't use one source being allowed/disallowed to justify another. However, Trello has over a dozen sources and is laid out neutrally. Nosebagbear (talk) 13:58, 6 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi! My draft is declined due to being "not properly referenced by independent sources". I did add references, but they're all in the Ukrainian language. Am I only allowed to reference English-language sources when the Wiki article is in English? I was just trying to create an English copy of the existing article about a music band in Ukraine. Thanks for any tips! Purple anka (talk) 07:44, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Purple anka: - hi there. Ukrainian (or Russia etc) sources are fine - google translate does a reasonable job these days. Running through the sources, they generally aren't sufficient to prove notability for two reasons. Some aren't independent, as they are either directly from the band, or are interviews (where all the answers come from the band). Others aren't really in depth, with only a couple of lines on Karna. Hello, I have been advised that the multiple references for the draft article do not meet the criteria for notability. This is quite confusing, as the following references are multiple, and apparently meet the defined criteria for significant coverage in independent, reliable and secondary sources. Please see below:
1. Coverage in BloombergQuint.com, a prominent financial news portal formed as partnership between Bloomberg and Quintillion media (reference: https://www.bloomberg.com/company/press/bloomberg-forms-new-partnership-with-quintillion-media-in-india/). Coverage link: https://www.bloombergquint.com/business/startup-street-this-startup-says-it-can-nearly-wipe-out-your-electricity-bill
2. Coverage in ETEnergyworld.com, a part of The Economic Times, India's largest English financial daily, that focuses on energy news. Coverage link: https://energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/renewable/we-will-achieve-rs-100-cr-annual-revenue-this-financial-year-pranesh-chaudhary-founder-zunroof/70024921
3. Coverage in The Hindu Businessline, a leading, highly-credible financial daily in India. Coverage link: https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/specials/clean-tech/lighting-up-your-home-right-from-the-roof/article27198508.ece
4. Coverage in CNBC-TV18, a leading financial news channel (an India-specific venture of CNBC), link: https://www.cnbctv18.com/young-turks/young-turks-troubled-with-high-electricity-bills-heres-how-zunroof-can-solve-your-problems-3828671.htm
5. Coverage in Moneycontrol.com, a prominent financial and business news portal owned by Network 18, a leading media company of India. Link: https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/this-startups-solar-power-solutions-is-making-indian-homes-green-and-future-ready-3971841.html
I feel that Zunroof meets the criteria for notability - however I am happy to take feedback from other editors.

Dear Thsmi002, Thank You for feedback. Please can You tell me how can I do to resolve this problem that You wrote me? I would like to know how can I do to give significant coverage in the submitted content. The actress is present in the Internet Movie Database and in the cast of the tv series: Commissioner Manara (2011, Davide Marengo, Luca Ribuoli), The Young Montalbano (2015, Gianluca Maria Tavarelli). Let me know, thank You
- Hi KeitaStudio. IMDb is user-generated, so it is not a reliable source. Mymovies.it is reliable, but indiscriminate. It aims to cover all of Italian cinema, so it doesn't help demonstrate notability. Google searches don't return independent, reliable, secondary sources containing significant coverage of Rogati, only primary source interviews with little or no analysis by the interviewer, tabloid and blog coverage, and trivial mentions. Revisit the topic in a few years, by which time more may have been written about Rogati in independent reliable sources. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:59, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

- @RobHewes: - hi there. Sources showing notability need to be secondary, independent, reliable and in-depth. The large majority of your sources come from the club itself and so aren't secondary. The other big group are from southern athletic and only contain a league table - which isn't sufficient for Significant Coverage. Sources don't "stack", so 10 league tables in different sources don't show in-depth coverage. Nosebagbear (talk) 22:21, 7 September 2019 (UTC)

- This is still not even suitable to be a draft, let alone an article as it has no content. I'm not sure what you are wanting to ask. Nosebagbear (talk) 11:29, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

- @Kalpatru: - I'm not sure what you're asking about. This isn't currently submitted to become an article (see article wizard for that). However, it also has no reliable secondary sources, so it will automatically be rejected if submitted before being improved. Nosebagbear (talk) 11:34, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

I have noted that other software published wikipedia pages cite the official website as a reference, I have also put some additional references and the official Youtube channel of this application in order to directly refer to its features. The information is also generic and can be tested and proved by anyone who visits the official website, and download and test the application. Aghiadhokan (talk) 13:16, 8 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Aghiadhokan:, while a link to the company's site should generally be included, it doesn't provide anything to showing notability. All the sources here are either non-independent (they're linked to vimert) and/or non-reliable (such as a wiki or youtube). As a product, it needs to meet the same higher notability guidelines as a company. Nosebagbear (talk) 16:22, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Dear
Pls could you let me know how many more references i require to upload the article ? thank you
Timon Stathakis (talk) 08:45, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Timon Stathakis: - I rejected this draft as no independent/reliable sources contained any info on him, and a look elsewhere didn't indicate that any other such sources existed. I don't believe any degree of editing can fix this - he just doesn't appear notable, by wiki standards (yet) Nosebagbear (talk) 10:18, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

- Thanks you update some further info for this to be notable. Hopefully this will improve the article.
- @Timon Stathakis: - your sources are still all about the company (or written by the company), so tell us nothing about reliable/independent about the individual. Nosebagbear (talk) 12:58, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

Good Afternoon,
I understand & accept you have certain criteria for English football clubs however I would like to appeal for a re-review in this instance.
I am a senior volunteer for the club and everything about the way the club is set up and is being run is professional. There are some key personnel involved with Wakefield AFC which is owned by FBT Sports. As you will see from the references provided, former Manchester United player Chris Turner is currently the Coach & Director of Football. Having a Wikipedia page is seen by all involved as a key part of our plans going forward. The page I have set up initially may lack in depth information however this will be frequently updated as the club progresses.
If you could re-review this I would be highly appreciative.
CJLewis1990 (talk) 11:19, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that in Wikipedia terms the club is not notable and Wikipedia has no interest in your "plans going forward" it is not a venue for promotion of any kind. Theroadislong (talk) 12:22, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
15:54:18, 9 September 2019 review of submission by JamesRodir
Hello helpers, could you please describe why do you think the company is not notable enough or where the sources are weak and nonreliable? I have read WP:NCORP and I found that the sources I added are independent of the subject and the company has more than 1 million customers which I believe is a lot. They have been mentioned by the NY times, business insider, mastercard newsroom and a bunch of other press. They have a important partnership with Mastercard and even the Canada Revenue Agency allowed canadians to use Plastiq to pay taxes. And there is for example Cash App a mobile payment service with the same type of sources and I do not see how are they more notable. I appreciate your reply
JamesRodir (talk) 15:54, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- The sources need to cover the company in-depth as far as I can see you have a lot of passing mentions, press releases and blogs none of which are sufficient to establish notability. The fact that other stuff exists is irrelevant. Theroadislong (talk) 16:39, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Theroadislong: I know its irrelevant but what I meant is that if they are live we as editors can use it as example. thats my logic there. Most of the articles are about plastiq and its services there are some that just mention the company but they help stablish notability I think. Take for example this one https://www.businessinsider.com/is-plastiq-app-worth-it-safe-2018-6 or https://www.pymnts.com/news/b2b-payments/2018/plastiq-commercial-cards-electronic/ aren't these reliable sources? I need a little more insight because I still do not get why wouldn't Plastiq be notable enough for the encyclopedia. Its a company with many clients, press, great partnerships, and there are more than 70 results of Plastiq in google news, this has to count for something. Hi there, I am requesting assistance because eight weeks have now passed since the Draft was submitted. Is there any way to expedite a review, or, at least to request that this draft receive some attention? Many thanks.
Dancemaven (talk) 17:35, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Dancemaven: - due to the major backlog, the oldest of our drafts have been in the queue for twice that length. Most reviewers don't specifically target requested drafts, so a degree of patience will be required.
- It's not required, but it might be worth seeing if you can get hyperlinks to the online versions of some of your more recent sources.
- Particularly focus (sources and content) on the individual himself - it's not a combained Hollander/company article, so while obviously it will include content on that, it doesn't need a detailed run through of the company/studio's actions Nosebagbear (talk) 18:28, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

I just worked for 3 hours adding 27 references to Let It Be Art! new page and I pushed Publish these changes, but when I did, it disappeared on me. I wasn't thinking, I should have copied it. Where did it go, I am very upset, then when I tried to find out where it went, all I had was a blank page and of course you turned it down. Where did all my changes and original revisions and new references go to Let It Be Art! Why wasn't I given enough time to add all the references. I took three hours to do it, but I don't know where it is, PLEASE HELPPPP!!!Fitwithjan (talk) 18:44, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

Check neutral point of view and notability for draft article titled "Adam S. Weinberg".
Chamberednautilus (talk) 02:18, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
I am requesting an opinion about whether or not the current draft article for "Adam S. Weinberg" meets the Wikipedia standard for 'neutral point of view'. Also, I would appreciate confirmation if the subject of this draft article meets the Wikipedia standard for 'notability'. This draft article was first submitted for review on 9 May 2019. I've made changes to the text in response to a reviewer's comment to create a more neutral point of view. Are any further changes recommended?
Thank-you,
Chamberednautilus
- Hi Chamberednautilus. The draft has been in the pool to be reviewed since 16 May. The backlog stands at 5 months, so you can anticipate a review, which will consider the issues you raised, around the middle of October. --Worldbruce (talk) 10:16, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

There was a grammatical error in the sentence which we have rectified and replaced it with the old one.
Kindly review the same.

- Hi Chirag-Behre. Rejection is intended to be final, to convey that the subject is not notable, so no amount of editing will make the draft acceptable here. You may wish to consider alternative outlets that have different inclusion criteria. --Worldbruce (talk) 10:05, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
