AutoWikiBrowser

Recently returned editor with previous AWB rights; Re-diversifying beyond WP:RCP and into WP:MOS editing. Promethean (talk) 14:56, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Automated comment This user has had their access to AutoWikiBrowser automatically revoked ([1]) and has approximately 353 non-automated edits in the mainspace. MusikBot talk 22:11, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Just out of curiosity, Promethean, it looks like you've never used AWB. What's changed? Primefac (talk) 15:12, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Just looking for new ways to contribute mostly; WP:RCP is my main contribution, but gets stale after a while. Been looking into WP:MOS editing and figure that it's an area that can probably always use additional help. Promethean (talk) 15:51, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done, sorry for the delay. Primefac (talk) 12:12, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I want to autowikibrowser right to make repetitive edits to Wikipedia. I highly prefer JavaScript scripts that work within my browser. So I will be using this right to access User:Joeytje50/JWB. Thanks. Masum Reza📞 11:50, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I will use this right to add WikiProject templates to unassessed articles' talk pages. Also there are some other actions I have in mind (such as adding cite web template to bare urls). Thanks. Masum Reza📞 11:56, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not inclined to grant based on this thread regarding perfectly legitimate uses of JWB. Primefac (talk) 00:06, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac: I am sorry that I misunderstood. How to make up for my mistakes? Masum Reza📞 00:14, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Confession

I want to confess something here. Several of my requests were declined on WP:PERM. First I wanted rollback to fight vandalism more effectively so I asked for rollback on February 2019. My request was declined back then because I had inserted copyrighted content in a page the day before requesting. Same went for PCR. Then I asked for NPR because I wanted to review new pages. TonyBallioni declined it because I wasn't aware of Wikipedia's copyright policies and the big mistake I made was that I didn't give appropriate summary when copying contents within Wikipedia. Then there was that time in April when I asked for PCR again. DeltaQuad declined it because of some mistakes I made (Calling a good faith edit vandalism, my preference to use undo button instead of talk page also other things). Then I realized that I should take CVUA course to be able to distinguish between good faith edits and vandalism. I have taken the course and have passed the academy. At the end of the course, my instructor recommended me to apply for rollback to be able to use powerful counter-vandalism tools. I did exactly so and Swarm approved it. Then DeltaQuad contacted Swarm regarding my last request declines. Swarm converted my rights to one month trial. After my trial was over, I requested for renewal to Swarm and then later PERM. Also my request of AFC script right was declined earlier today due to lack of transparency and other issues. I contacted Oshwah on IRC for some advice and nothing more than that. He advised me to confess and be myself when I do that. So here I am confessing my past mistakes. My past mistakes raised on my talk pages can be found in it and it's archives. Also I've been improving myself and my editing skills to make up for my past mistakes. For example, I use page curation to tag articles with Twinkle and I sometimes use copyvio Revdel script to tag revisions that are listed at Copypatrol tool on WMF labs. I now use talk page rather than undo button.

Here's the link to Lourdes's talk page where DeltaQuad addressed several mistakes of mine. I might have missed some of those past events but I believe this link and my talk page can point out all of them. Also I have another request on WP:PERM/R Masum Reza📞 12:46, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I want to use autowikibrowser for the (somewhat) repetitive task of working through short descriptions, as the tool would make it much easier to go through all articles listed in a specific category. I have read the WP:AutoWikiBrowser page. I have more than 250 non-automated mainspace edits and more than 500 total mainspace edits. According to xTools, I have 1,227 mainspace edits. I promise to only make quality contributions using the tool, to abide by all Wikipedia guidelines and practices and to not delibrately make controversial edits. As for rule #4, short descriptions may seem inconsquential, but they are signifigant feature on mobile versions of this website. Clovermoss (talk) 23:49, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've been performing many repetitive tasks, such as fixing typos, grammatical errors, and other mechanical issues. I was recently reviewing a bunch of India-related articles, and for some reason, there were a lot of random spaces inserted. I found out about this not long ago, read the guide, and I would appreciate it if an admin will let me save my time while editing. Thank you. William2001(talk) 23:16, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Primefac: I do not see any new permissions on my preferences page. Is this normal or will this affect my ability to use AWB or JWB? Thank you. William2001(talk) 20:29, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
William2001, since AWB/JWB are "external" programs, it is based off membership on Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage. Your name is on the list, so you should be good to go. Primefac (talk) 21:33, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I wish to use AWB to fix typos, which I have been doing manually up to this point. TheAwesomeHwyh 03:37, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've been gone for a while but again majority of my edits will be done to categories and getting back into stub sorting. Once i'm comfortable again, I'll likely reactivate my bot but for now just want to work with my main. Rob110178 (talk) 23:19, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done With 12 article edits, you don't have a sufficient track record to demonstrate that you would use AWB appropriately. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:41, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to use the AWB in the German Wikipedia to be more efficient with my work. I take care of maintenance pages and maintenance categories, which are updated daily. Thank you in advance for the rights assignment. Crazy1880 (talk) 08:54, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done, as this is the request page for the English Wikipedia. Primefac (talk) 12:06, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please sanction my AWB access as i need to use it & also need JWB app to run. Earlier i was using it for voluntarily activities.  !dea4u  11:18, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would like access to AWB for making tedious edits (fixing typos, spacing errors, etc.) easier. Also, I have experienced problems with AutoEd due to other scripts clashing with the tool. AWB would be a good alternative. Puduḫepa 15:48, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
