Wait, what?

This article opens with "Computer Braille is an adaptation of braille to represent the computer code.". Now, I'm no expert in computers, (...well, some might disagree), but "the computer code" doesn't make sense- which one? There's more than one code used in computers. What does 'code' even mean here?
