Untitled

The first sentence of the article is terrible: "The Congrès International d'Architecture Moderne (CIAM...was the think tank of the modern movement (or international style) in architecture."

First, the CIAMs should be plural, Congrès Internationaux d'Architecture Moderne, after all, there were quite a few of them over the course of 30 years.

Second, CIAM was not a "think tank." It did not have permanent offices, employees, researchers, etc. It was a long running series of international conferences.

Then the "modern movement" is not the same as the "international style." The International Style was the title of a book by Philip Johnson and Henry-Russell Hitchcock. The CIAMs were something different, run by different people for different reasons.

I'm going to change it sooner or later. Thanks,Fixifex (talk) 02:31, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your concerns have been addressed. --Lockley 23:14, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently not, since 10 years later the title of the article is still - incorrectly - in the singular ('Congrès International' rather than 'Congrès Internationaux').213.127.210.95 (talk) 16:41, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Congrès International d'Architecture ModerneCongrès Internationaux d'Architecture Moderne – That's the correct name for a series of congresses (plural), and that's supported by the authority control record at https://portal.dnb.de/opac.htm?method=simpleSearch&cqlMode=true&query=idn%3D965779378 (German National Library).
