I am looking for LeMessurier and Hills. (1965) Decompression Sickness. A thermodynamic approach arising from a study on Torres Strait diving techniques. Hvalradets Skrifter, Nr. 48, 54–84. I cannot find it on the internet and none of my academic contacts have been able to get it through their university libraries. I live outside of Cape Town in South Africa and have no access to major libraries. I need the paper both to verify existing article content and to write an article on the content of the paper, which is a major landmark in its field. I'll check up with you before my next trip and see if you still need it. - @Tolanor: It's possible to print out the microfiche image and then scan it on a normal scanner for sure. I think the machines at my library can also email them to you. But I have a tale of absurdity to tell on this one. My university's library has the entire Newsweek collection on microcard, not microfiche, even though it's catalogued as microfiche. The best part is that we don't appear to own a microcard reader. I held the damn thing in my hand and it was of exactly no use to anyone. I'm going to call on Monday when the person in charge of the microfiche collection is in and see if they have any means of reading the thing. This has got to be the single most ridiculous thing my university has done yet. ~ RobTalk 22:14, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

@John M Baker, I appreciate the effort however I need the article in a readable format rather than all clumped together in one solid paragraph. Is someone able to render me a version that is the same format as the article itself? If necessary, i can send my email address to someone so that they can send an attachment if needed. Thank you. - Sure, send me an email. John M Baker (talk) 03:34, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, Softlavender, it turns out that I don't have access to a formatted version of the article. You may want to consider just editing the article yourself to insert some paragraph breaks for readability. John M Baker (talk) 14:49, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- OK, John M Baker, since this was basically a series of one-sentence paragraphs, that worked in this instance. However in June I'm going to need the ST article on the winners, and for that I will need the properly formatted article, so please let someone else respond then. Thank you. - @Bangabandhu: I don't think the OCLC link above was intended as a response to you, but simply as additional information for volunteers trying to fill your request. Clicking on the number takes one to Worldcat. If one then enters one's location and clicks "Find libraries" it will list libraries that hold the book. Doc Taxon asked on 2 March for you to send an email, which you would have done using Special:EmailUser. The Deil's Hallowe'en
{{Resolved}} I need a copy of The Deil's Hallowe'en, a poem by Young Glasgow (which may be a pseudonym) and published in Glasgow in 1856, apparently as a standalone book. It's held at Oxford and at the University of Glasgow; I don't know if there are any other copies. I do not need the entire poem, but only the page on which appears the line "A drappie o' the real McKay," plus any additional pages that may be needed to give the line context (e.g., does "real McKay" refer to a brand of whisky?). I believe this is page 25. This is for real McCoy. John M Baker (talk) 18:52, 2 June 2016 (UTC) --John M Baker (talk) 18:52, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- OCLC 181861875 only shows those two holders. You might try placing a nice request for assistance at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject University of Oxford, but surprisingly few Oxonians are active on WP. LeadSongDog come howl! 16:54, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

- Thanks for the suggestion, LeadSongDog; an editor at WikiProject University of Oxford was able to supply this source. John M Baker (talk) 03:23, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Information for a long-reigning Bedouin dynasty in Syria
I need pages 199–204 from the following book: Bakhit, Muhammad Adnan (1982). The Ottoman Province of Damascus in the Sixteenth Century. Librairie du Liban. pp. 199–204.
The information pertains to the long-prominent Arab tribe of Al Fadl, which held sway in the desert of Syria for several centuries, and whose descendants continue to inhabit the country. Articles to be improved/created: Al Fadl, amir al-arab, Fakhr ad-Din II, Hayar ibn Nu'ayr, Mudlij ibn Zahir, Salamiya and Palmyra (possibly) --Al Ameer (talk) 17:30, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

- {{resolved}} Thanks for your help @Worldbruce: I might come back to you for further access in the near future (unless this book was just rented, in which case I'll just report here again). Cheers.
- @Al Ameer son: It's a library book, rather than something from my personal collection, so it generally would be safest to request it here. I only visit that library once every month or two, and it might already be checked out when I do. If you need a few more pages in the very short term, feel free to ask me directly; I won't be returning the volume for at least another week. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:55, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
