I had sent in a request for edit and received a nasty email stating I was "soapboxing." It I sent in a company history. Not sure what I did wrong.[reply]
@AmberShank: You put your submission in the wrong place. This is the page for suggesting improvements to the page Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia, not for submitting new articles. I took a look at what you wrote here before, and I think you need to read the information at WP:PROMO and WP:PSCOI as what you wrote looks very promotional and you probably have a conflict of interest with regard to the article you're trying to submit. If you feel that you would like to try and write that article and you can back it up with reliable third-party sources, then check out the information at WP:YFA. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly on my talk page, or check out the Teahouse. Thanks, ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 20:45, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but if you are thinking of creating an article about yourself, the advice is probably "don't". See this page. The only people to have articles about them on Wikipedia are those who have achieved enough prominence for others to have written about them in a number of reputable publications. The full guideline is here.
The other thing is that we discourage editors from writing about themselves here, as we regard this as a "conflict of interest".
This template must be followed by a complete and specific description of the request, that is, specify what text should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y".
The edit may be made by any autoconfirmed user. Remember to change the |answered=no parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. This is so that inactive or completed requests don't needlessly fill up the edit requests category. You may also wish to use the {{ESp}} template in the response. To request that a page be protected or unprotected, make a protection request.
