Daniel Robbins accepts new position with Microsoft Gentoo founder and former Gentoo Chief Architect Daniel Robbins began a new position at Microsoft on 23 May 2005. According to drobbins: "I'm helping Microsoft to understand Open Source and community-based projects." While in the midst of hastily packing to move to Redmond, drobbins nonetheless managed to find the time to finalize the transfer of Gentoo's intellectual property (essentially copyrights on ebuilds and other software as well as soon-to-be trademarked Gentoo logos) to the not-for-profit Gentoo Foundation, Inc.

Gentoo Linux founder quits Microsoft For anyone wanting to update the page with more info on him leaving MS, see for example these pages: [1], [2] -- Limulus 20:32, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistencies with becoming a Gentoo-Dev again According to drobbins own blog his "rehire" was only a few days ago, not in August as this wiki-page suggests. The linked bug-report is not an indication that drobbins is a developer again, simply that he was being mentored to become one. This is akin to saying he began his apprenticeship in late August. Per Petteri's latest comment and the afformentioned blog posting Danial only recently became an actual developer. I've updated the article accordingly but I wanted to detail my reasoning here as someone who isn't as familiar with Gentoo might not understand the difference.Shan 19:38, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
