The 4th Los Angeles Meetup event will be the Great American Wiknic held at Pan-Pacific Park on June 25, 2011, and organized by User:Fuzheado and User:Howcheng. Plans are still gestating.

What, Where, When, and How?

What: Picnic!
Where: Pan-Pacific Park [ info ] [ map ]
When: Saturday, June 25, 2011, all day

PLEASE NOTE: Pan-Pacific Park gets busy with picnickers and barbecuers, so we need some plucky volunteers to get there as early as possible to hold some tables, preferably with a grill, but if someone wants to bring a (medium or large) grill, then we can afford to be less picky.

Details

Sorry this has been a little disorganized. With three / one ZERO(!) days to go, we need have some sort of plan! The park is pretty large, so let's plan to find tables/grills at the north end (closer to Beverly Blvd). We are going to need food, drinks, utensils, and dishware. If nobody can get there early in the morning—say by 9:30 AM (I can't, I'm coming from Ventura County)—then we will need someone to bring a grill because those tables will likely be taken by others. We should also have signs or something so that we can recognize each other. :) Also, it would be nice to get a better headcount than just "possible" because people bringing food will need to know how much. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 23:37, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I should arrive around noon Tinkermen (talk) 03:48, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I Itsnotinstalled (talk) plan to arrive between 9 - 9:30 to reserve the table(s), I'll shoot for the north, but according to the satellite photos it looks like there's a nice covered area on the west side so I'll grab what looks nicer, and worst-case scenario it looks like there's grills at the south end, so just start at north and work your way down.

OK, we are go for tomorrow (or technically, it's today)! Here's my photo: http://www.facebook.com/howcheng, and my Google Voice number is 805-380-5128 (forwards to my mobile phone) in case anyone gets lost. Oh, and I'll probably be there around 11:00. howcheng {chat} 08:45, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, and I've got stickty 3 1/3" x 4" nametags with individual QR Codes PRINTED(!) for all the Likelys and Possibles ready to go, so look for those and ask for those if you're one of them! Itsnotinstalled (talk)

David King Hey! Someone please create a Wikipedia entry on the systemic herbicide Chlorpropham (known in the herbicide industry as Bud Nip and used on potatoes, blueberries, spinach, and a lot of other vegetables we eat.). There is a German page on it that you can Google Translate. Thank you! http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorpropham
