Confucius

  • "This is SOUR".
  • Rules are needed to counter-act the Present which is out of step with the Past.
  • Worship Ancestors

Buddha

  • "This is BITTER".
  • Concern is with the Self.
  • views the vinegar as a 'polluter" of the tasters body and soul due to its extreme flavor.

LaoZi

  • "This is VINEGAR".
  • Life is what it is.
  • Everything is true to itself; as long as a thing is true to its nature.
  • A is A. (Rand)
  • no judging or characterization
