Split of Category:Vietnam geography stubs

Soon will be around 800 stubs. I would recommend splitting by region of Vietnam in categories. The regions are as follows Northwest · Northeast · Red River Delta · North Central Coast · South Central Coast · Central Highlands · Southeast · Mekong River Delta

However I reckon it may be worth creating upmerged templates for a every province of Vietnam. Sometime I'll get around to adding the communes of Vietnam which will make this very reasonable. I propose creating the following templates and upmerging to the new regional splits. So for example CauMau-geo-stub would feed into Category:Mekong Delta geography stubs.

This, however, probably needs to wait for the outcome of a massive renaming of permcats which i think may be called for, so going with one -l- for now but keeping an eye out for future changes is possibly the best option). If we go with the Foo-Olympic-bar then the US subcats (the only other country we have split this way) need to be renamed. I agree that we probably do need a rename to medallist at some point. I don't think we need both axis of split do you have a preference for either. Waacstats (talk) 08:56, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi. Sorry about the delay in responding fellas. I'm not sure what we should do about naming in all honesty. I would completely support the category and template naming conventions above. I would also support East and West templates. Dr. Blofeld ^{White cat} 18:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Russian/Soviet films

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed creation of the stub template and/or category above. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the template's or category's talk page (if any). No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the debate was create as so cannily revised by Lugnuts.
Following this discussion, I'd like to create the following stub categories:

• Category:Russian film stubs - {{Russia-film-stub}}
• Category:Soviet film stubs - {{USSR-film-stub}}

The former is for films from 1917-1991 (240+ articles currently in this category) and the latter for post-1991 films (100+ articles in this category). Lugnuts (talk) 18:31, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
