Defensor (Transformers)

Defensor was a character from the fictional Transformers universe.
Transformers: Generation 1
Template:Transformers character Defensor could be formed from the entire combination of the five members of the Autobot group called the Protectobots. He views humans as his children and will spend his last drop of fuel to protect them. [1]
Animated series
The Protectobots first appeared in the U.S. Transformers television series in episode 63, "The Revenge of Bruticus" with no explanation as to where the Protectobots came from. [2]
They often were engaged in battle as well both on Cybertron and Earth, including a trip to Unicron's severed head to investigate its reactivation by the ghost of Starscream.
The Protectobots were last seen in the U.S. series supporting Ultra Magnus in a last ditch effort to stop Galvatron in the fourth season. They failed and were gunned down in "The Rebirth Part 3".
In episode 25 of Headmasters, "The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg", the Autobots study the Decepticon activity throughout the world, and Fortress Maximus orders the cassettes to figure out what's going on. The Autobots mobilize their forces, including Defensor. [3]
In episode 27 of Headmasters, "Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters Part 1" the combined might of Computron, Defensor and Raiden is used to destroy the abandoned Decepticon base on Earth. [4]
In episode 34 of Headmasters, "The Final Showdown on Earth: Part One" Predaking and Bruticus begin attacking cruise ships in the ocean. Spike and Carly start to organize teams to repel the Decepticons - the Protectobots, the Throttlebots and the clones. [5]
Marvel Comics
Hot Spot and the Protectobots first appeared in issue 24 of the Marvel Transformers comics, where it is assumed they were built on Earth by the Autobots and given life by Optimus Prime using the Autobot Matrix of Leadership.
Defensor later appeared in issue #35, "Child's Play" where he faced Bruticus again.
Dreamwave Productions
The Protectobots appeared in the combined form of Defensor in the second War Within series by Dreamwave Productions. They were defeated by Devastator. [6]
Toys
- Generation 1 Defensor
- Defensor was released in the same packaging as the other combiners. [7] This toy was redecoed as Guard City, a Takara exclusive. [8]
- Generation 2 Defensor
- A redeco of the Generaiton 1 toy was proposed, but only produced in limited numbers as samples. The Generation 2 Protectobots are rare collectables which have sold for hundreds of dollars on ebay. [9]
Transformers: Universe
Template:Transformers character Defensor is the name of the combined form of the Micromaster Protectabots - First Aid, Groove, Hot Spot, Prowl, Red Alert and Streetwise.
3H Enterprises
This version of Defensor appeared only in issue 2 of the Transformers: Universe comic as one of the Transformers escaping Unicron's captivity.
Toys
- Universe Defensor (2004)
- Defensor is a redeco of Generation 1 Sixturbo. He was not sold as a set, but only as the six individual Protectabots. He was initially a Kaybee store exclusive. [10]
