why in a transistor collector region is larger than th other regions?

Do these thingies even exist?

All the references I see on line are simply derived from this one article on Wikipedia. I am beginning to think that they are just the result of some theoretical work. Does this article violate the "No Original Work" principle of Wikipedia? Davide Andrea 22:39, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
