This is of the most popular Computer operating systems.The list is based on percentage of wordlwide use, and not necessarily the sales of each operating system will coincide.Several operating systems such as the Mac OS may or may not be included, given that they run on seperate Pcs desighned to operate solely with that software and so don't directly compete with others.To date, Microsoft Windows and all its seperate versions,specifically Windows xp hold about 90% of all the IBM PC usage share, with the only other significant holder being the freeware Linux operating system.
