Educational Records Evaluation Service (ERES) [1] is a non-profit organization based in the Sacramento, California. Founded in 1981, ERES evaluates and provides the U.S. level equivalence of the academic credentials of individuals that have been completed outside the U.S.

ERES produces evaluation reports for the U.S. equivalent of foreign earned academic degrees. These reports are intended for use by academic institutions, licensing boards, employers and other government agencies for admission, employment and certification purposes. [2]The organization also provide services in multiple languages and values timely communication during the assessment process.[3]

ERES is a charter member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), a U.S.-based organization that establishes criteria for credential evaluation agencies and maintains a directory of recognized members who provide services to academic institutions, licensing boards, and government agencies[4][5]. ERES is featured in industry updates from NACES and has been involved in professional conferences.[6][7][8]

ERES is accepted by multiple U.S. state licensing boards and government agencies. It is an approved evaluator by the California Board of Accountancy[9], the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing[10], the Texas Board of Nursing[11], and the New York State Education Department[12]. Its evaluations are also recognized by universities like California State University San Marcos[13], California State University Bakersfield[14], and West Valley–Mission Community College District[15], and are referenced in regulatory contexts like the Illinois Nurse Practice Act (Title 68, Part 1300), which outlines credential requirements for nursing licensure.[16]
