Educational Records Evaluation Service (ERES) is a non-profit organization based in the Sacramento, California. Founded in 1981, ERES evaluates and provides the U.S. level equivalence of the academic credentials of individuals that have been completed outside the U.S.[citation needed]
The organization prepares evaluation reports that are used by academic institutions, licensing boards, employers, and government agencies for purposes such as admission, employment, and professional certification. The organization also provides services in multiple languages and maintains a focus on prompt communication during the evaluation process.[citation needed]
ERES is a charter member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).[1], the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), and the Basic Education Coalition (BEC).[2] The U.S. Department of State has listed the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) as a resource for evaluating foreign academic credentials for federal employment purposes.[3]
ERES is accepted by multiple U.S. state licensing boards and government agencies. It is an approved evaluator by the California Board of Accountancy[4], the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing[5], the Texas Board of Nursing[6], and the New York State Education Department[7]. Its evaluations are also recognized by universities like California State University San Marcos[8], California State University Bakersfield[9], and West Valley–Mission Community College District[10]
