These are annual gatherings that take place all around the world. People interested in Linux the world's most popular Free/Open Source Software Operating System, gather to share information and learn.

Some are volunteer-run events hosted by LUGs (Local Linux User Groups) like the Southern California Linux Users Group, others are run by large event management companies like O'Reilly Publishing.

Local events pull hundreds of people. The larger events, including some LUG sponsored events pull in thousands of people from all around the world.
