History

Aitech Systems was founded in 1983 to develop high-reliability embedded computers for space and defense applications. The company has since grown into a global supplier of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom computing platforms, offering solutions aligned with military and aerospace standards such as MIL-STD-810 and DO-160.[1]

Products and Technology

Aitech develops a range of rugged and radiation-tolerant systems, including:

  • Single-board computers (SBCs) for space and avionics
  • AI-based supercomputers for edge computing and autonomous missions
  • Subsystems and integrated payloads for satellites and spacecraft
  • Cybersecure architectures for multi-domain defense operations

Its systems are designed to operate reliably in harsh environments, with compliance to SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) constraints and radiation tolerance for long-duration missions.[2]

Notable Products

  • The SP1 Radiation-Tolerant SBC, a 3U OpenVPX board, is designed for use in orbit and deep space missions.[3]
  • The S-A2300 Space AI Supercomputer, based on NVIDIA Orin, enables onboard processing for space-based AI applications.[4]
  • The A230 Vortex is a rugged edge AI supercomputer using Jetson AGX Orin, recognized for tactical AI applications.[5]

Applications

Aitech’s products are used in a variety of applications including:

  • Spacecraft for data processing, autonomy, and communications
  • Unmanned systems (UAVs, UGVs) for defense and surveillance
  • Military platforms for command, control, and edge analytics
  • Lunar and deep space missions, including contributions to the IM-2 moon mission[6]

In 2024, Aitech also launched the IQSat, a picosatellite platform enabling AI experimentation in orbit.[7]

Strategic Partnerships

Aitech has partnered with several organizations to expand its technological capabilities:

  • In 2025, it collaborated with Mobilicom to enhance data security in unmanned systems using rugged AI platforms.[8]
  • It also announced a collaboration with Intuidex to support multi-domain edge AI computing.[9]

Leadership

As of 2025, Yaron Mund serves as CEO. Under his leadership, Aitech has expanded into AI-based mission computing and increased its presence in global aerospace collaborations.[10]

Recognition

  • The A230 Vortex was awarded the Artificial Intelligence Excellence Award in 2025 for innovation in rugged AI computing systems.[11]
