Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Awards
![]() | Points of interest related to Awards on Wikipedia: Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Awards. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Awards|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Awards. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Award that fails WP:GNG. I was unable to find any in-depth coverage about it, only short mentions. WhoIsCentreLeft (talk) 17:11, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

Deleteper nom Redirect to Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award as ATD, Insufficient coverage by independent, reliable secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. for stand alone article.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 20:01, 17 April 2025 (UTC)- Delete per above, or redirect to Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award. Bearian (talk) 04:50, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award - I don't believe that the subject warrants a standalone article (due to not receiving independent, reliable coverage, which means we can't presume the subject is notable). A redirect would be best, since it'd be easy to write an article in the future about the subject incase the subject gains more coverage. WormEater13 (talk • contribs) 02:10, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. The subject is one of the highest literary honours in Malayalam language and is part of a series of 14 awards under the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards, each having a separate Wikipedia article. As for sourcing: the award is announced annually and covered in all major national and regional newspapers. Some sources are already cited, and I can add more for other years if that is the actual concern (I am not sure if that is the concern). Malayala Sahityam (talk) 00:11, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Strong Keep. The article is about one of the 12 major awards given by Kerala Sahitya Akademi. The award goes to those literary personalities who have contributed to Malayalam literature in more than one area. All other categories have independent articles and leaving this one out will render the coverage of Kerala Sahitya Akademi inadequate. --jojo@nthony (talk) 04:45, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award: Per nom and other. Doesn't fit in NLIST and no standalone notability. — Benison (Beni · talk) 06:52, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award . Does not warrant a stand-alone article. RangersRus (talk) 19:53, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect per most editors here. Not enough coverage and just seems like a list of non notable awards. Ramos1990 (talk) 02:57, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
