These are annual gatherings that take place all around the world. People interested in Linux the world's most popular free Operating System, gather to learn and share information. Some are volunteer-run events run by LUGs (Local Linux User Groups) like the Southern California Linux Users Group, others are run by large event management companies like O'Reilly Publishing.

Local events pull hundreds of people. The larger events, including LUG sponsored events. ones pull in thousands of people from all around the world.
