Help:IPA/Kurdish

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Offa29 (talk | contribs) at 12:57, 28 October 2024 (Many/most accents of English have a GOOSE vowel considerably more front than [u], except when followed by /l/. "Book" is GOOSE rather than FOOT in some accents of English.). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

The chart below shows how the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) represents Kurdish pronunciations in Wikipedia articles. This page includes the three main Kurdish dialects; Northern Kurdish, Central Kurdish, and Southern Kurdish. For a guide to adding IPA characters to Wikipedia articles, see Template:IPA and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Pronunciation § Entering IPA characters.

See Kurdish phonology for a more thorough look at the sounds of Kurdish.
