Caroline Stenger-Philippe: 1985 Strasbourgh MD (?) thesis

  • Stenger-Philippe, Caroline (1985). [See below] (MD?). University of Strasbourgh.

For Hugh Evelyn-White: I have not found the thesis cited in full, but it is often referenced as the source of the (almost certainly false) claim that E-W wrote "I have succumbed to a curse" in his own blood before his death. First references to it are news articles from July 1985 (e.g. LA Times here; I don't have a title, unfortunately, but it's probably something to do with fungi and the Egyptian pyramids, possibly mentioning Aspergillus flavus. Generally given as a doctoral thesis from the Strasbourg school of Medicine. Any reference to Evelyn-White from the thesis gratefully received. Thanks, UndercoverClassicist T·C 07:41, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

it is cited as "Stenger Philippe AM: Tutankhamon cursed with moulds?; graduate thesis. Tempo Medico 1986:16:12." in this paper. And here is a paragraph about this thesis. Artem.G (talk) 08:32, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you: I don't suppose you have access to the first one and could send a PDF? I don't think TWL has it. UndercoverClassicist T·C 07:05, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Got it, thanks. Not getting very much from chasing up that citation, unfortunately, but perhaps something will turn up. UndercoverClassicist T·C 10:46, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Bruce1ee: Not resolved, unfortunately: Artem has sent an interesting and related article, but neither of us has yet found what was requested. UndercoverClassicist T·C 11:05, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. —Bruce1eetalk 11:06, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For Hebrew calendar. I understand there are some passages relevant to the Accuracy section, and in particular the author proposes a 334-year cycle around pages 207-208, but I can only see snippets from Google Books, so I'd like copies of pages 207-208 along with any relevant surrounding sections. @Arcorann: Given the author's lack of expertise, I would be cautious about the reliability of this book. A lot of nonsense has been written about this topic. It is also way out of date. Zerotalk 13:14, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. I'm still interested in the section, if only because it was mentioned in one of the other sources on the page. Arcorann (talk) 03:34, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Heisei no hitto-kyoku

For Chiisana Koi no Uta

This is a book about 30 popular Japanese songs from Heisei era. Recently, I started writing about the Mongol800 song "Chiisana Koi no Uta" in German and English Wikipedia. While searching for sources, I stumbled upon this book written by music critic Tomonori Shiba. I need the pages where the book gives further detailed information about the song (such as background, analysis, interpretations) so I can keep on working on that article in both languages. I need the exact pages where Shiba wrote about the song as well. The book has a total of 303 pages.

Fossil hyracoid papers : Pliohyrax, Prohyrax, Postschizotherium

For Pliohyrax, Prohyrax and Postschizotherium. Current advance can be seen on my sandbox, but I'm a bit stuck as Melentis 1966, Stromer 1926 and Koenigswald 1966 are essential for each taxa respectively. Koenigswald 1932 is less important but probably has some infos on Postschizotherium which was still considered a chalicothere at the time. I'm aware that the Stromer paper is on Google Books but the limited preview is unsufficient for it.

Edit : I'm adding an additional chapter on the evolution of African hyracoids, that is probably essential for Prohyrax and Meroehyrax.

Thanks in advance, Larrayal (talk) 22:03, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Larrayal: Meyer 1978 is available through TWL access to De Gruyter. This link should work: https://www-degruyter-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/document/doi/10.4159/harvard.9780674431263.c15/html ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 20:10, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Larrayal:  Doing... Kuss 1976 and a couple others. I literally touched this exact issue like 15 min ago, trying to fulfill a different resource request from the same journal. Unfortunately, I’d already left by the time I saw this update. Please send me an email, I’ll attach PDFs to the reply once I get them in a day or so. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 20:24, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done ! Much thanks ! Larrayal (talk) 01:53, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Larrayal: Yes Sent #2. Please note this is in the supplement. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 18:10, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Larrayal: Please double check #6 and #7. They are apparently the same citation but with different titles.
For others looking to fulfill this request, please note that #3 should specify it is Series B. of Proceedings of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen . This journal apparently has multiple series. Same applies to Geologisches Jahrbuch, which is "Reihe B". ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 19:16, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Right, the same holds for #6 and #7, as Geologisches Jahrbuch appeared in six different series at that time. Also note that #6 and #7 have the same page range in the same journal issue, which is obviously wrong. -- @Larrayal, @ARandomName123: can you please indicate, which parts are already resolved? I think I can fulfill some of the remaining parts of the request. FordPrefect42 (talk) 21:44, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@FordPrefect42: Hi, I think you're miscounting the references. #8 is Neues Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie (though it should probably specify that this paper is published in the "Monatshefte" version of the journal.)
The completed ones are #2 (Palaeontographica supplement), #5 (See De Gruyter link above) and #8. which I will send over shortly (last one, Neues Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie). ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 21:51, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
 Doing... working on #1, #3, #4, #6, #7. -- @ARandomName123 right, I noticed my miscounting and corrected it meanwhile. FordPrefect42 (talk) 22:09, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, I didn't notice it until after my comment had been posted! Thanks for handling the rest of the resource request. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 00:50, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Larrayal: Yes Sent #8. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 00:47, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot ! #6 and #7 are treated as two distinct documents in older papers, I did a slight mistake on the number of pages but they should normally be after each other. Larrayal (talk) 18:43, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Larrayal: Understood. Could you please confirm whether the link above works for the Harvard University Press book? You should have access to it through TWL. In addition, could you please readd the completed papers in the old order, and strike them out instead? Removing them makes it more confusing since the numbering is messed up. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 18:58, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Larrayal Yes Sent #6 and #7. And +1 to ARandomName123, please restore the original list and mark the items that are resolved, that is much more transparent to track. Thank you! FordPrefect42 (talk) 22:02, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Larrayal Yes Sent #1, #3 and #4 FordPrefect42 (talk) 16:24, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot ! Sorry if I couldn't respond faster - week has been busy, but I should be able to put those in use starting on monday !
