Didn't the Formula-1 autority ban the use of such materials for engine blocks, etc., because their very high prices and large performance boost would have the combined effect of forcing smaller teams leave the sport? Thus it would be impossible to have 10 teams x 2 cars on the grid, possibly only Ferrari, Honda, Toyota and the Renault would remain. Therefore F1 engines must be made of traditional metals. 91.83.20.241 (talk) 22:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't RCC the same material ? At least I don't see them seperated by technical definiton. Should both section being merged ? --89.60.249.55 (talk) 20:40, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MMCs use metals as the 'resin' whereas RCC uses carbon. 135.196.96.66 (talk) 15:05, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Monolithic Material

[edit]

Can anyone confirm that this is equivalent to 'single crysatal'? 135.196.96.66 (talk) 15:13, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
