WP:SYNTH or maybe simply misinterpretation of sources?

The first reference starts with "In this paper we review the experimental and observational searches for stable, massive, elementary particles other than the electron and proton." This suggests that a standard definition of SMPs may include the electron, since the authors found it necessary to restrict the class to say what they were referring to for this paper. (If you were to suggest to a particle physicist that an electron is not a stable massive particle, I suspect you'd get a guffaw.) If I say "People, other than those over 1.5 m tall", I am not defining people as only those under 1.5 m tall. Unless we have sources that specifically define the class of SMPs as is done here ("In general, SMPs are supposed to be more massive than the electrons ..."), I think that we may have an egregious case of WP:SYNTH or beyond in defining SMPs here. —Quondum 12:01, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
