I think there might be a disambiguation... according to this site; http://math.nist.gov/MatrixMarket/deli/Wilkinson/, the Wilkinson matrix refers to one that has ones in the diagonal, negative one below and ones in the last column. It is originally from this article; http://eprints.ma.man.ac.uk/356/01/covered/MIMS_ep2006_174.pdf. The matrix gives huge growth factor in Gauss elimination.
